When reporting a problem, these help a great deal: your phone model, your Android version, the TimeNudge version from Settings, and what you expected to happen instead.

Common questions

My screen time looks wrong or is missing

TimeNudge reads Android's usage statistics, which need Usage access. Check Android Settings → Usage access and confirm TimeNudge is allowed. If access was off for a while, that period cannot be recovered — Android does not keep it for apps that were not permitted to read it.

Why do nudges arrive a few minutes late?

Nudges are checked periodically rather than continuously, so one can arrive a little after the moment it is about. That is deliberate: polling constantly would cost battery out of proportion to the benefit.

Can TimeNudge block an app?

No, and it does not pretend to. TimeNudge measures, summarises and nudges. Nothing locks, nothing counts you out, and every nudge can be dismissed.

Does my data go anywhere?

No. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot make a network request of any kind. See the Privacy Policy.

Can I export my data?

No, deliberately. An export would copy your history somewhere the app cannot reason about. See No export, on purpose.

How do I delete everything?

Uninstall, or use Delete all usage history in Settings. Full instructions on Your data.
