Privacy Policy

TimeNudge measures how long you use your apps so you can understand your own habits. It does not need to know what you do inside them, and it has no way to send anything anywhere.
The short version
- Nothing is transmitted. TimeNudge holds no
INTERNETpermission, so the app cannot make a network request of any kind. - There is no account and no server. Nothing to sign into, nothing to breach.
- Everything is stored in app-private storage on your phone, excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.
- No ads, no advertising ID, no third-party tracking, no data sold or shared.
- Uninstalling deletes everything, and there is a delete-all control inside the app.

What TimeNudge records
All of this is written to a local database on your phone and stays there.

What TimeNudge never collects
- Message contents, of any kind
- Notification contents — no title, no text, no sender, no extras, no icons
- Contacts, photos or personal files
- Passwords, credentials or keyboard input
- Browsing history, or anything you type, search or read inside another app
- Your location
- Any identifier that ties usage data to you personally
TimeNudge cannot see inside your apps. Android's usage API reports that an app was in the foreground and for how long — nothing about what happened while it was.
Notification access
Notification access is off by default. Nothing about notifications is measured until you grant it in Android Settings, and turning it off stops collection immediately.
When it is on, TimeNudge reads exactly three things from each notification: the package that posted it, the time it was posted, and whether it is a group summary. It reads no title, no text, no sender and no extras, and it ignores dismissals entirely.
This is not a promise resting on good behaviour. The table that stores notification records has six columns — an id, package name, timestamp, date, hour and a group-summary flag. There is no column that could hold a message. Even a future bug could not store content, because there is nowhere to put it.
Notification records are deleted automatically after 35 days, and you can delete them all at any time from Settings → Privacy without touching your screen-time history.
Where the data lives, and how long
In an app-private database on your device that no other app can read. It is excluded from Android cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so a phone backup does not copy your usage history off the device.

TimeNudge does not request QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES, any accessibility
service, exact alarms, location, contacts, storage, camera or microphone. Some screen-time apps use
an accessibility service to read screen contents; TimeNudge does not, and is built so it never
needs to.
Sharing, selling and third parties
None. There is no analytics service, no crash reporting service, no advertising network and no third-party SDK that receives your data. Your data is not sold, rented, shared or transferred to anyone, and no exception exists for business transfers or affiliates, because there is no transmission mechanism to make one with.
Children
TimeNudge is not directed at children and is not designed for use by them. We do not knowingly collect data from children. The app has no account system, so no personal information is submitted to us in any case.
Your rights and controls
Because your data never leaves your device, you exercise every right directly rather than by asking us — we hold nothing to give you, correct or erase.

No export, on purpose
An earlier version could write a CSV of your history. That was removed. An export is a copy of your data leaving the app's private storage for somewhere we cannot reason about — a shared folder, a cloud drive, an email. Keeping everything on the device, under one delete-all control, is a stronger guarantee than a file with a warning attached.
Security
Your data is held in app-private storage, which Android isolates from other apps. There is no transmission and no server, which removes interception and server-breach risk entirely. Your device's own lock screen and encryption are what protect the data at rest, so keeping your device updated and locked is the meaningful precaution.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — in particular if a future version of TimeNudge ever gains network access — we will update this page, change the date above, and describe the change in the app's release notes before the new version ships.
